This is my third smart watch–or maybe I should use the term “fitness tracker” as this product also calls itself. I’m not interested in an expensive smart watch that requires me to have another wireless account, so I like that this watch connects reliability to my Android phone. One of my previous watches had nice functionality and a good interface, but would not stay connected for more than a day or two at a time. That is not the case with this IP68 watch. It stays connected with no issues at all.
Another factor is size. My most recent smart watch purchase was just way too thick, too heavy, and, frankly, ugly. The IP68 is quite thin and light, and while no one will mistake it for a designer watch, it looks good, and the screen is sharp. I’m also impressed with the various watch faces that are available. There is one that gives me a nice analog watch look, including a second hand, while also displaying heart rate and steps, which are the two things I’m interested in seeing. Accessing the watch’s other functions is also easy. I think this watch’s user interface is superior to my first two. The screen displayed in my accompanying photo is great. It lets you pick any function you want, and as you slide your finger across the screen it enlarges the icons on that side. Really clever.
The only thing I would like to see improved is to be able to have the display on all the time and still have decent battery life. But, I definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get the most important smart watch capabilities in an economical, well-designed product.
