I ordered this to use for reading books from a micro SD card and some TV streaming, about the easiest thing tablets should be able to do. The tablet worked just fine with a 128GB micro SD card. I copied the books to the SD card over Wifi and was shocked that the speeds stayed around 8-12Mbit (1.0-1.5 MByte/s). Considering that my phone easily does 40x that speed copying the same files, that seems particularly slow. 720p video streams OK. Turning the device on is slow enough that you could grab a snack and come back before it finishes booting up.

It may be slow, but it does work for what I want: SD / 720p TV streaming and reading books.

It does have a slot for a SIM card and it has calling and texting apps already installed, but I didn’t try those features.

This tablet is not like the popular brand, but it is something that is affordable enough to hand it over to responsible kid as their first tablet. It’s kind of slow and may not run some of the more powerful apps, although I have had no issues so far.

I mainly wanted it to leave out for control of smart home products, that way if someone breaks this one, I won’t be super upset because the price if fair at the time I received it ($58.90). . It gets the job done. So far I’ve had no issues with this tablet and it’s done everything I’ve needed it to do.
