The Desong Smart Watch is a great smart watch for the $50 price range. At that price you aren’t as concerned about it scratching, getting lost or stolen. 5 stars for the price.
The presentation is great with the watch arriving in a box that shows off the display and band.
As seen in the picture, I have smaller wrists for a 6′ male. The watch face is BIG (1.75″ or 4.5cm). Big enough that I would love it if the software supported playing videos on the watch.
The battery life is probably the best feature. I turned on frequent heart rate monitoring, bluetooth connectivity, speaker, messages, etc. and the watch used 3% of battery in a day. Compare this to name brand watches that need charging after 12 hours.
Da Fit Android software pops up when you look for supported software. This doesn’t appear to have any unusual required privileges, but still be cautious when allowing full access to your private phone data. It connects to the watch and allows customisation. Although when you open the menu on the watch, it states the watch is disconnected.
Overall it has some rough edges with features/customisation, but for the price point it’s a great way to get into the smart watch arena.
Pros
Great battery life.
Large display.
2 custom watch faces. 1 with a selected picture. 1 from the built in watch face collection. 4 fixed faces with busy displays where you need to hunt for the time.
The watch band is widely adjustable and secure.
Cons
You never know which watch face will display when turned on. The side knob needs to be configurable, or to select apps, or set to ANYTHING other than changing the watch face.
Da Fit Android software missing features. Running in background doesn’t work on a Google Pixel 7 pro. You can’t get much cleaner with the Android OS than that.
Bio readings for heartrate/SPO2… are not reliable even with a tight fitted watch.
No wireless charging. You need to use the provided proprietary cable to charge the watch. One note on the design of the cable. It connects with strong magnets. That is good unless it finds a paperclip or anything metallic that can short the charge pins. I would not leave it plugged in.
