I have a GMKtec Nucbox 10 with AMD RYZEN 7 processor and would like to try the Nucbox M4 with intel i9 processor. I have used it for a week and it is pretty impressive. I use it for gaming with bluestack. I can run 4-5 multiple instances, watch movie and surf the net at the same time with this mini PC without problem.

My setup:
2 32inch monitors + 15.6 inch portable monitor Wireless mouse and keyboard

Pros:
1. It has an intel i9 processor – 11900H 8C/16T.
2. Cheap – a laptop with the same spec will cost more than double the price.
3. It support triple display – HDMI, DP and USB-C
4. Dual Lan Ethernet Wifi6
5. 5USB-A and 1 USB-C port

Cons:
1. USB-C port is in front. I prefer the usb-c port at the back if I use it for the 3rd display. It won’t be a problem if you run a dual display.
2. It only has 1 hdmi and the other is DP. If you don’t have DP cable, you will need to buy one or use the USB-C for 2nd display.

Overall this is a great mini PC for gaming and everyday use. I am glad I bought this mini PC.

Customer service has been terrific on all the GMKtec products. The first unit had a boot issue so they immediately sent out a new unit from Amazon. We returned the original unit to them to troubleshoot. The replacement unit has been working like a charm for well over a week now. We have played live video for well over a week and no crashes when we weren’t actually using the computer for other work. Seems well built. Easy to replace RAM or SSD if desired. Internet connectivity is as expected. Seems like a solid built unit.

Updated:

It felt quite slow for an I9 processor so I started running benchmark tests. The specific machine that I had performed almost as well as a ten year old I7, but not quite. I’ve returned the hardware for a refund. With the cost of these items there shouldn’t be such a descrepancy, it’s a work tool, it should at very least work as intended on arrival.

When I contacted GMKTec support they suggested that I remove the OS and reinstall it, which I did. That made no difference to the performance. It must be that that specific item was faulty. That said if one spends a thousand dollards on a bit of hardware (Including shipping) the hardware should work. If you don’t mind back and forth and wiping the OS and fiddling about with the thing until it eventually works I’m sure it can be made viable. I think I’ll buy different hardware instead, I need a working computer and I’m not inclined to tune and adjust and repair and ship hardware all over until it eventually works for me.

Old Review:

It performs ok on the kinds of things one might use a work computer for. It’s very lacking in the graphics department and isn’t upgradable. If you were to install Linux and a DB server on this little guy it’d be amazing. For anything that requires a bit of graphics grunt it’s a bit lacking. I installed a bluetooth speaker today and it seems it’s lacking in the bluetooth department too. The same speaker works perfectly with another computer in the same room but drops the connection and doesn’t work well with this mini PC. I also find that my mouse pointer stutters as though there is high latency between the mouse and the PC.

I’ll try removing and reinstalling the OS and see if that improves things, but so far it’s not comparable with “equivalents” from other manufacturers. I thought I’d give GMKTec a third chance, after on the second the PC just didn’t arrive and they literally asked me to give them another chance, but I think I’ll be safer buying any further PC’s I buy from another manufacturer.

The performance is generally lower then it should be.

Full disclosure, I got a $140 coupon on this when I purchased, I don’t know how often that coupon is offered, or if it was just because I bought before Christmas, but just wanted to put that out there, but overall I am extremely happy with the performance of this lil thing. It’s not powerhouse, of course, but it certainly holds it’s own, and gets the job down. Quietly, I might add. I had it within two feet of me while in use for about two or three days before moving it, and never noticed any real noise coming from it. And it doesn’t get very warm either. I don’t know what black magic they summoned to cool this thing, but it works, and well.

Third computer from GMKtec and they never disappoint. An upgrade to my wife’s workstation computer at home with heavy word processing.

Bought this little computer as a back up to my laptop. It works great for what I need. Good Value. Had a tech support issue, but the guys at tech support were quick to resolve it successfully.
Highly recommended.

I have had the NucBox KB7 for several days and I really like it. It is tiny, like roughly 3.5″x3.5″x1.5″. It comes with a VESA mounting bracket and I put it on the back on a monitor (pic included). The initial setup/install was quick and painless (Windows 11). I got this to use as a shared PC in the common area of my house. It has Wifi6 & BT5.2 which work great and allow me to not have a ton of wires hanging off the back of the setup, just a power cord and HDMI cable, very tidy. For the money it is a very good general purpose PC. I own several GMKtek mini PC’s and I love them all. I can easily recommend the KB7 for someone who wants a small footprint and reliable computing experience. I really love the NUC form factor.

While it could be a little bit quieter, this computer does quite a bit for its size. 3 displays might slow the cpu and integrated graphics, but your mileage may vary.
