Overall great camera. 4Mp camera is clear, night vision is crisp, the application is user friendly and the account can be shared across multiple devices and accessed simultaneously accesed.
The monitor itself even has a micro SD slot so that you can save recorded videos without purchasing a subscription service, like the other top brand cameras. Motion tracking is great, to monitor an entire space or set the camera static to focus on a specific area. The notifications are great, and can even be adjusted to be sent based on sensitivity of stimulus i.e. noise strength. One of the best features is that you’ll even get a notification if it looses connection whether it gets unplugged or simply goes offline.
Overall the device itself works very well, better than expected and better than top brands, and cheaper than most camera monitors of the same caliber. But there’s a catch, a big one!
I looked to purchase this item specifically to used as a baby monitor. I was able to pair it with all Amazon enabled devices and access the camera feed on the fire TV’s, as well as the echo show, on top of smartphones.
Only thing is… the video feed logs out after about 40 minutes, which at first I thought was strange, but after several trys on multiple viewing devices it was always the same. I looked into everything trying to keep the feed on but nothing. It simply times out on all devices after 40 minutes.
The camera itself stays on continuously that’s not the issue. It’s having to constantly reboot the video feed is the problem. It’s impossible to track the little one through the entire night off this “baby monitor” alone. I had to purchase an additional noise exclusive monitor as well, and use them in conjunction to track through nights especially.
So solid camera overall, but beware of the feed shutting off/timing out, losing all video and audio. Having a separate device exclusively to pickup noise that runs without fail is a must, because you can’t simplify depend on this staying on.
