Update Jul 2023: It has been a year exactly of daily use. It is still running properly, no changes. A few days ago I dropped it accidentally into a bucket of clean rain water fully, it was under water for those 5 seconds that took me to fish it out. I know is not water proof and at the moment I was sure that I have killed it, but no, it kept running without doing anything weird, I was lucky. Don’t try that at home, kids!.
Update Feb 2023: It has been 8 months of heavy daily use now, it’s still working just fine.
Update: Nov 2022, I have been using it for 4 months of heavy use already, it is still running strong and no issues or problems at all to report, works good!
Original review Aug 2022: I still own the next Umidigi phones (Power, A5 Pro, A9 Pro, A11 Pro), and they are all still working after all these years (the old ones I gave to my kids and my wife), that’s why I like Umidigi branded products, they have great value, you can find parts if need to repair anything (like a charging port I broke, I replaced the port myself). My first impression, it felt very light for its size. I’ve tried to bend it to test how strong it is, and doesn’t bend at all, so good point in there. And I have been using it for 3 weeks already, and I haven’t have any issues. The display is very crisp and responsive, the huge size is a plus!. This smartphone is very fast and snappy. They come in 4Gb and 6Gb RAM memory, but for the very small difference in price just go for the 6Gb one to future proof it (and to get maximun operative speed), it’s a no brainer. Also I’ve tried plugging a network RJ45 card into the usb-c port (Sumlett brand), and it works perfect at 97mbps both up and down in my home 100mbps internet connection. I heavily use it for audio and video playing, and some gaming, and it works flawless, the battery last an entire working day to me. I’d recommend to get a flip leather case for it to protect the display from scratches, as the clear case it comes with is very minimalist and doesn’t protect the front display. That being said I haven’t been able to scratch the display after all these days with no case fully protecting it all (and after 2 weeks the new case arrived) so I’m impressed about that. Pictures: I’m no professional but the pictures look great to me, also the selfies one. Video also works properly. With a storage of 128Gb + a separate slot for another SIM or SD card you provide (I’m using myself a 200Gb one) this has plenty of room for many years to come. Signal reception (both 4G and WiFi) and talk quality are great (even in remote zones, I’m connecting with very old and very new wifi access points and it works quite good), no issues there. The speakers sound is actually quite loud and good enough quality for such tiny speaker located at the very bottom by the port charger, but if you want perfect sound I suggest you to use Bluetooth headsets or external speakers. I’ve also paired other Bluetooth devices (weight scales, radon meters, my car stereo, 3 different brand of headset, and other smartphones too) they all paired easily without problems. I’ve also tried plugging corded headphones, they also work just fine. It comes with Android 11 installed, that is actually a great operative system, easier to use than previous versions. On the negative side (there aren’t many negatives points really), sometimes the smartphone get a bit warmer, specially in a very hot day (32C+) while doing heavy tasks, but I haven’t had any problem, it keeps running just fine.
So, to finish, I recommend this phone as I’m very pleased, it does it all the stuff I need properly and for a very reasonable price, you can’t go wrong with it.
