Variant I brought: FN305 Black.
Price: $199 ($299 listed – $100 coupon)

It’s a decent system overall. Not many N305 variants on Amazon. Opening the PC was simple 4 screws. The RAM and NVME were not marked. I assume it’s just a generic brand. It was good to see that it had an optional SATA port which I immediately used to add an old SATA drive. The top cover has a channel where the drive fits snugly. I used double sided tape to stick it to the underside of the top cover.
Upon turning the PC on, it booted straight into Windows with an admin account. There was no welcome/setup screen. (Possible red flag). However for my use, I flashed Proxmox on it instantly so it did not bother me. With that said, the unit has been running stable with no issues.
The fan noise is there if you’re running some load on it, but in most cases it’s really quiet. The CPU tends to like hanging around 62C.
Overall, for the price, it was a solid deal. Happy with the purchase. If you can find it around a similar price, definitely get it.
Edit: Just want to add the 2.5gig lan is the one next to power plug.

Great pc and very fast. For whatever reason the Displayport does not send out a signal; I overcame the problem by adding a usb-based video adapter that works just fine. Too much trouble to return the product. I’m too chicken to go into the bios and try to “awaken” the Displayport output. But I still highly recommend this pc. I had already purchased the white one and it is just as fine!

Using Proxmox, I was able to enable IOMMU through GRUB. The BIOS has a million settings EXCEPT VT-d; however, it appears to work. The only negative on this PC is that the NICs are both Realtek, not Intel. Hopefully OPNsense works well.

Works good for my needs. Basic needs has the power.

Overall good and pretty quite machine. But outright one of the NIC ports is not working.

Review of FEVM Mini PC Windows 11 pro, 18W 12 Generation Intel N100 Mini Computer, 3.4GHz-4 Cores:

There are tons of these N100 and the lesser powered N9095A on the market now and I’ve played with several.

Some of the interesting points of this N100 that stood out for me:

1. It support 3 different video outputs – HDMI, Full sized Display Port and USB-C. All 3 can be used at once with up to 4K video output on each which is pretty impressive. You can use a USB-C to Display Port cable/adapter also if your second/third display doesn’t have USB-C inputs.

2. Two NICs (2.5 and 1Gbit) LAN connections – however they are not labeled as to which is which.

3. You can power it via USB-C instead of via the DC power input.

4. The fan is fairly silent and doesn’t seem to run constantly.

A few negatives and reasons why I’m only awarding 4 stars:

1. At the time of ordering this was $299 which is a lot considering it only has 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD.

2. My unit arrived with an “admin” account already created. I did not get the full “Welcome to Windows 11” introduction that you normally get on a fresh machine’s fist boot. So someone had left a test account and not wiped the machine. A bit worrying, but maybe this was a sample unit.

3. The power supply for my unit is “NETGEAR”. Again rather suspicious as to if this is really a production unit or some kind of early sample.

4. The housing is 100% plastic and it feels a bit cheap. The intake vent for the fan is right at the base of the unit and literally a millimeter above whatever you place it on. This is going to be a dust magnet. Luckily the fan doesn’t seem to run constantly or at least doesn’t make a loud annoying whine like some other PCs do.

5. Instructions and other information are rather lacking.

I think with a good discount from the original $299 price this would be a great deal. Run Home Assistant, a media server, web surfing etc. Video output options are very impressive. Upgrading from the standard 8GB RAM would certainly help.

I’d love to review the product I got in a straightforward way. Sadly, this is one of those sellers who’s confusing their listings by removing and adding products to the same landing page. What I got was 8gb of RAM, and 256gb SSD. As a reader, you can’t find that here any more. But I’ll still tell you what I know.

This brand’s mini computers function much like any laptop. So long as you have a screen to hook it to, the rest pretty much takes care of itself. For some reason, the thing shuts itself off completely after some hours of no usage. You may want to check all the connections before buying, just to be sure this has what you’re going to need (or be prepared to buy adapters). And I’d note that these bafflingly cost more than most of the more widely tried competition.

But if you’re seeing one of these on sale, and it’s the lowest price around, this brand isn’t a bad option. It’s simply hard for me to seriously recommend a brand who ghosts their own products after submitting them for review.

this is powerpacked for such a small formfactor computer. Comes with good digital outputs for video. Comes with the SSD and decent memory. I haven not tried upgrading it but I read that it can be done. If you need a decnt machine for cheap to mess around, this is perfect!
