This is review for SER5 model (Ryzen 5 5500U, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD).
This is very fast and snappy performing computer, good both for everyday tasks and serious work, too!
Fan is very silent and most times it is off - only turns in during the serious gaming or rendering works.
3D performance is also not bad - for your reference, in Unigine superposition at 1080p medium this computer scores 3045 points (For your reference, athlon 200GE scores 735 in this test and RX580 - about 5500), which, translated to normal words mean that most titles will run quite nicely on 1080p medium settings here.
This is all good, but there are several aspects you should consider:
1. There is no audio output, neither analogue or digital. There's only headset jack, so if you have dedicated speakers with analog or digital input, you need to get separate USB soundcard, which is not so easy, due to - check the next issue.
2. Lack of USB ports. Seriously, only 4 USB ports in 2023? They're absolutely not enough, so I ended up using TWO USB HUBs, just to get my devices up and running (Keyboard, mouse, webcam, printer, scanner, external soundcard, arduino)
3. Bad wifi sensitivity. Where reception is good, Wifi Delivers 300mbps and faster speeds, however, where reception is weak, you're getting super low speed, like, 5-6mbps where other devices are getting 40+. So I ended up connecting external USB wifi card, to improve wifi speed. This applies both to 2.4G and 5G bands. Just to explain to you how bad wifi reception is, here's my setup - router is about 20 feet away from the computer, with direct line of sight, and wifi speed is close to none! However, if I move it within 5 feet range, then I get 300mbps without any usses.
Hope all that helps.
