I've owned computers and laptops for more than 30 years in various footprints, including early iterations of the NUC.

I was in the market for another computer, in this case as replacement for a laptop that was primarily used as a desktop, attached to a large monitor.

Since I don't travel very much anymore, I don't have a compelling need for a laptop, particularly as I can do most everything through phone apps.

I had been looking at the GEEKCOM for quite a while, having been impressed by the features, reviews and price points. I also liked that there was a slot for an additional HDD. However, I was frustrated at how difficult it was to get a 2 TB SSD/32 GB configuration. through their own website and how lengthy was the backorder time.

That is, until I looked at Amazon, where the product was readily available at the same price.

I received my unit within a couple of days and immediately installed the additional hard drive from my old laptop after removing its operating system. That process was simple and certainly far more simple than having to do upgrades on most every laptop I've owned.

I do recommend adding the second hard drive as you can preserve space on the SSD and use it to house your apps, while storing files on the HDD. In that manner there would be minimal degradation of speed in executing apps, loading up the operating system, etc.

The GEEKCOM was very simple to set up and very easy to reload applications.

It has lots of ports, very quiet operation, takes up virtually no desk space and really is quite fast, although I don't use it for gaming, even as I do image rendering.

I'm toying with the idea of adding a portable power supply and monitor as I might consider using it as a laptop replacement on trips.

The unit is now about 2 months old and has probably been the lowest maintenance computer I've ever owned.

This model has the slightly slower 5095 Celeron instead of the 5105 Celeron, which sold out quickly. Nevertheless, the performance is very similar to the 5105 model. For light office-type use in Windows 11, this is a quite capable machine, and you can't beat the price. It also runs Ubuntu quite well. I would expect expanding the memory to 16Gb or more would improve performance slightly, and that is a pretty cheap upgrade if necessary. Built-in wifi is a nice feature. It has plenty of video ports: HDMI, DisplayPort, and a USB-C video port, so you have plenty of choices for hooking up to a monitor. Comes with a VESA mounting plate for a tidy install on the back of a monitor. Runs quiet. I put Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on mine, and have it running distributed computing jobs at 100% CPU utilization, and it the CPUs don't get above 60C.

Great purchase. Easy to set up. License transfer was very fast. Performance is exactly as promised. Never buying a full-size PC or laptop again.

Bought for a position i will fill for 2yrs. Great size, works well. Picked up my Chrome personality, so seamless with my other locations and laptop.

Purchased for personal use and like that it is compact & quiet. Lighweight and very fast - excellent value. Mounted right on back of monitor - simple and easy to use.

Was looking for an a new computer to replace our old Dell we had for 10 years. Great replacement, fast computer with plenty of storage. Nice not to have a big bulky computer as our previous Dell was an all in one with just the monitor and we wanted to continue without a lot of equipment on the desk itself. Easily hooked up to 2 27 inch monitors using an adapter. Several office software programs are used along with website hub and automotive industry software. Absolutely worth the money and price great.
